This thyroid-associated disorder is one of the most common illnesses affecting the eyelids and orbital tissues, and may cause symptoms ranging from eye discomfort to severe inflammation and visual loss. In some cases, tissue involvement can cause eyes to bulge or protrude, as seen in some of the patients pictured on the left. These patients underwent surgery to reposition the eye in the orbit. Non-surgical treatment methods are also used to treat the symptoms of Graves’ eye disease. If you suffer from Graves’ eye disease, we recommend a thorough examination by a qualified physician.
