Dr. Russell Neuhaus has been in private practice in Austin since 1982. He graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a degree in electrical engineering and earned his medical degree with honors at Baylor College of Medicine. Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Neuhaus was selected for Alpha Omega Alpha, an honor medical society for top medical school graduates. Following his internship, Dr. Neuhaus completed his ophthalmology residency and fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic surgery at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA Medical School in Los Angeles. He currently is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he has actively been teaching since 1982. Dr. Neuhaus travels extensively to lecture at medical schools and seminars in the United States and abroad. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Travis County Medical Society. He also is a member of the Outpatient Ophthalmology Surgery Society Board of Directors. He and his wife, Cecilia, have two children. Dr. Neuhaus is active in civic organizations and is a Knight of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. His other interests include antique automobiles and gardening. |
